Sweetheart Donuts

It doesn't have to be Valentine's day to appreciate what I call, "Sweetheart" donuts.  In fact, it doesn't even have to be February.

I got the pan 1/2 off at Target after Valentine's day - it is a Wilton.  You can use the regular round donut shaped pans as well.  Here is the recipe:
2 cups cake four, sifted (use 1 3/4 c all purpose plus 1/4 c corn starch if you do not have cake flour)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg (I like to grate mine fresh using a microplane grater)
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup buttermilk (or you can use Kefir)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Preheat oven to 425*. Combine 1st 4 ingredients in 1 bowl.  In another bowl beat the eggs with a wisk, add the buttermilk and wisk until combined, then add the sugar and wisk some more until smooth.  Next, drizzle in the butter while wisking some more.  Dump in the dry ingredients and wisk until blended.  I put my batter into a batter dispenser - makes it easier.  However, this thick batter will be fine if you just want to drop it into the pan with a teaspoon.
Spray pan with cooking spray. Fill each donut cup 1/2 way and bake for 5 minutes (until donut springs back when lightly pressed.  Cool 3 minutes and remove from pan.
Glaze donuts with the following recipe:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons milk ( I use 1/2 n 1/2)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. almond extract
few drops of pink gel food coloring (or any color)
ENJOY!

Home Sweet Home Card

A card made for a friend who recently purchased a new home  I used Cricut Wild Card to cut out the shapes then simply added Martha Stewart Woodlands Brown glitter to the base of the topiaries.  I adhered them to the card with foam squares to give dimension.  A final cute touch is the mini pale yellow button I glued on for the doornob.  A very easy but nice looking greeting card!

3 Stamps for Sale

I am selling 3 Anita's wood-mount stamps for $8 each plus shipping.  Each stamp block is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".

They are extras in a set of stamps I purchased yesterday.  I was told that they are new and they do not appear to have any old ink on them.

St. Patrick's Day Card

I am so excited to have learned 2 cardmaking techniques this week that I will share with you in a fun card I made yesterday.  The first is using the step card design and the second is making a paper medallion for an embellishment.  The fact that it is a Saint Patrick's Day card is because I needed to make one for my mom to go along with a SPD towel that I got her.

PS - this is my first attempt at making a blog so this is another thing that I am learning how to do.  I feel like the world is there just waiting for me to take a piece of it!
